Overview
The fan motor used in VF Series Freezer and Ice Storage Cabinets fitted with UF40 and UF50 freezer units
has changed. The new fan motor is wired differently than the old fan motor. Refer to the information below for
specific models affected, fan motor identification, part numbers, and the procedure to follow if replacing a fan
motor.
Cabinets Affected
VF Series Freezer and Ice Storage Cabinets fitted with UF40 and UF50 freezer units shown in the table below
are affected by the change. To identify the freezer unit model number, refer to the unit rating label located on
top of the freezer unit.
Fan Motor Identification
Refer to the fan motor manufacturer label on the fan motor to identify old and new fan motors. The old fan
motor assembly is a one piece assembly including the fan motor, fan blade and wall ring/mounting bracket,
and is manufactured by EBM. The new fan motor assembly is made up of three parts including a fan motor
and a wall ring/mounting bracket manufactured by UNADA and fan blade manufactured by AirDrive.
New Fan Motor Part Numbers
The new fan motor assembly is made up of three parts. When replacing an old fan motor with a new fan motor, order all three parts (shown in the table below).
Note: Condenser fan motors and evaporator fan motors are programmed at different speeds and therefore
have different part numbers.
Replacement Procedure
Follow the procedure below to replace an old fan motor with a new fan motor. Ensure all work is completed by an authorised service agent and that all applicable electrical safety tests are done once the work is completed.
